Pillow : Handels Messiah premier, Fishamble Street, Dublin
Home Decor from Mary Evans Picture Library
Handels Messiah premier, Fishamble Street, Dublin
The original entrance arch to Neals Music Hall, Fishamble Street, Dublin. It was here, at Noon on Tuesday 13th April, 1742, that over 700 men, without their swords, and women, without their hoops, were crammed tightly in to hear the worlds first performance of George Frederic Handels new oratorio Messiah. Sadly, today the archway is all that remains, behind it, a block of modern apartments
Mary Evans Picture Library makes available wonderful images created for people to enjoy over the centuries
