The Dutch and Portuguese, two European colonial powers, are depicted in a fierce clash along the island's coastline, each vying for supremacy over this valuable territory. The Dutch, represented by the soldiers in the foreground, charge towards their Portuguese opponents, brandishing muskets and swords. The Portuguese, clad in armor and wielding pikes, prepare to defend their position.
