Welcome to Molineux, Ronald Zubar! The French international defender put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers, becoming the latest addition to Mick McCarthy's squad for the 2011-12 Barclays Premier League season. Zubar, 26, joins the Midlands club from Bordeaux where he spent the last eight years, making over 150 appearances for the Ligue 1 side. The versatile defender can play both as a central defender and a full-back, adding depth and experience to the Wolves backline. A product of the Bordeaux academy, Zubar made his professional debut for the club in 2003 and went on to win the Ligue 1 title with them in 2009. He has also earned 12 caps for the French national team, making his debut in 2008. Speaking about his move to Wolves, Zubar said, "I'm very happy to have signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers. I've heard a lot of good things about the club and the fans, and I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League. I'm excited to be a part of this team and I'll give my all to help us succeed." Mick McCarthy added, "Ronald is a very good defender and he'll bring a lot of experience to our backline. He can play both as a central defender and a full-back, which is a bonus for us. I'm delighted to have him on board and I'm looking forward to working with him." With the new signing, Wolves continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, as they aim to build on their impressive 8th place finish last season.
