The freedom of the Royal Borough of Windsor was conferred on her Royal Highness Princess

The freedom of the Royal Borough of Windsor was conferred on her Royal Highness Princess Elizabeth at a ceremony held in the open air in Home Park, Windsor Castle, this afternoon. Princess Elizabeth who is the first woman to receive this honour, drove through Windsor to the park along a route decorated and lined with troops, and on arriving at the dais in the centre of the park, was greeted with the massed bands of the Life Guards and Royal Horse Guards. The mayor, Ald. F. Fuzzens, conferred the freedom and handed the Princess and eliminated scroll in an oak casket made from Windsor Forest.
