It looked like a storyline from one of those television historical productions - The Wives of Wicked Pickles. The central character, Wilfrid Pickles, was smiling happily for the camermen - surrounded by two wives and his " bit on the side". Above is the real life missus, Mabel and, right, Avis Bunnage, who plays his stage wife in Stringers Last Stand at the Sunderland Empire this week. And, on the left, was his " bit on the side", Patricia Burke, who is Wilfs mistress in the play. Missing from the get-together was Irene Handle, his wife from the successful television series, For The Love Of Ada.

The title alone, "The Wives of Wicked Pickles" piques our curiosity and sets the stage for an intriguing storyline. And then there's Patricia Burke on the far left – Wilf's mistress in the play but also someone special off-stage. She adds an element of intrigue to this already complex web of relationships. Notably absent from this gathering is Irene Handle, Wilf's wife from the popular television series "For The Love Of Ada". Perhaps her absence hints at underlying tensions or conflicts within their relationship?
