The scene was witnessed first-hand by The Sphere special artist, Fortunino Matania who lived close by, and shows firemen and men of the Royal Flying Corps sorting through the wreckage and wire. Witnessed first-hand by The Sphere's special artist, Fortunino Matania, who lived in the vicinity, this poignant scene shows the aftermath of the destruction of LZ 37, a German Zeppelin airship, brought down by Lieutenant William Leefe Robinson of the Royal Flying Corps.
