Cecil Aldin in his studio
Cecil Aldin (1870-1935), sporting artist, illustrator and Master of the South Berkshire Foxhounds. Known particularly for his pictures of animals, especially dogs, he is pictured in his studio in front of a canvas (uncharacteristic of his style in many ways). The photograph was to illustrate an article about the expansion of his talents into toy designing. In 1903, he designed a range of wooden animal rockers which were manufactured by the Chiswick Art Workers Guild at Bedford Park. They were available to purchase for two guineas from Storys in Kensington, Liberty and the Woodbury Gallery in Bond Street. Date: 1903
