Royal Navy officer best known for commanding HMS Temeraire at the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805, when he focred the surrender of two French ships of the line, Redoubtable and Fougueux'. Harvey received the thanks of Parliament and of Lord Collingwood, a gold medal, a sword of honour from the Patriotic Fund, and was promoted Rear-Admiral.
