Entitled "1888 Giant amphibian of triassic coast" this landscape print was featured in Dr. Schubert's Naturgeschichte - Geologie, Mineralreich, Palaontologie publication. The artwork showcases a remarkable reconstruction of Mastodonsaurus, an enormous temnospondyl amphibian that once roamed the ancient shores. In the background lurks Belodon, a phytosaur adding depth and intrigue to this mesmerizing scene. During its time, Mastodonsaurus was believed to be responsible for large trace fossil footprints found in Triassic sandstones and identified as Chirotherium.
