EDITORS COMMENTS
Weston Park, Shifnal, Shropshire: A Royal Honeymoon Retreat Weston Park, located in the picturesque village of Shifnal, Shropshire, was the idyllic destination for Princess Mary, the Princess Royal, and Viscount Lascelles (later the 6th Earl of Harewood), following their fairytale wedding on 28th February 1922. At the time, Weston Park was the esteemed seat of the Earl of Bradford and one of England's most magnificent stately homes. The newlyweds, who had tied the knot at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace, London, chose Weston Park as their honeymoon retreat before embarking on a grand tour of Italy. The serene and breathtaking surroundings of the park provided the perfect setting for the couple to begin their new life together. Weston Park, with its stunning gardens and beautiful lake, has been a cherished treasure of English heritage for centuries. The grand estate, which dates back to the late 17th century, boasts exquisite interiors, impressive collections of art, and a rich history that has drawn royalty and nobility for generations. As the sun set over the tranquil landscape, the newlywed couple strolled through the gardens, hand in hand, taking in the beauty of their surroundings. The gentle sounds of nature, the soothing scent of the flowers, and the warmth of each other's company created a magical atmosphere that would remain etched in their memories forever. This photograph captures a moment in time, a brief snapshot of a royal love story that unfolded within the hallowed halls of Weston Park, Shifnal, in the heart of Shropshire, England, in 1922.
