Dr Johnsons House, City of London, c1900 (1911). Dr Johnsons House is a house museum in London, in the former home of the 18th century English writer Samuel Johnson (1709-1784). Johnson lived and worked in the house from 1748 to 1759, where he compiled his famous A Dictionary of the English Language.
