The hoof serves as a poignant relic of the bravery and sacrifice displayed on that fateful day. As part of the 3rd Regiment of Dragoons and 10th Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars), Captain Shakespear rode into battle alongside Lord Combermere as his ADC. The connection between man and horse is evident in this preserved piece, showcasing the bond forged through shared hardship and triumph.
