Military - Queen Mother presents new Squadron Standard to Dambusters squadron - RAF Marham

The Queen Mother on May 14, 1959 presents No 617 Squadron with its original standard. Today, the Queen Mother visited RAF Marham in Norfolk to present a new standard to the squadron, famed for the Dambusters raid in May 1943. In receiving the new standard, No 617 Squadron became the first RAF squadron to be presented with both Standards by the same member of the Royal family
