20x16 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.

Napoleon I on Horseback in 1814: A Moment of Defiance before Exile This evocative image captures Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) on horseback, surveying his troops during the final days of the Hundred Days War in 1814. The French military leader, who had risen to prominence during the French Revolution and became Emperor of the French in 1804, had been exiled to the island of Elba after his defeat in the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815. However, in March 1814, he managed to escape and regained control of Paris, leading his troops once more in an attempt to reclaim his throne. The scene depicted in this photograph is believed to have taken place on March 20, 1814, when Napoleon addressed his troops at the Tuileries Palace in Paris. Despite the odds against him, he rallied his soldiers, promising them victory and a return to the glory days of the French Empire. However, this brief resurgence of power was short-lived. French forces, bolstered by European allies, soon regrouped and Napoleon was defeated in the Battle of Paris on March 31, 1814. He abdicated once again, this time for good, and was exiled to the island of Saint Helena. This photograph, taken from the Mary Evans Picture Library, offers a glimpse into a pivotal moment in European history. It captures the determination and charisma of a man who, despite the overwhelming odds against him, continued to inspire loyalty and devotion from his followers. The image serves as a reminder of the complex and fascinating figure that was Napoleon Bonaparte, a man who left an indelible mark on the world stage.
