3D printed object C014 / 0273

3D printed object. Intricate pendant made using the process of stereolithography. Stereolithography (or optical fabrication) is an additive manufacturing (3D printing) technology used for producing models, prototypes, patterns, and production parts. It works by using a vat of liquid photopolymer resin that hardens (cures) when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light, and an ultraviolet laser to build the layers of an object one at a time. For each layer, the laser beam traces a cross-section of the part pattern on the surface of the liquid resin. Exposure to the UV laser light cures and solidifies the pattern traced on the resin and joins it to the layer below. As it progresses the solid object slowly rises out of the liquid resin bath

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a remarkable 3D printed object, identified as C014 / 0273. The pendant displayed in the image is an exquisite example of the intricate designs achievable through stereolithography, a cutting-edge additive manufacturing technology. Stereolithography employs a liquid photopolymer resin that solidifies under ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, meticulously building each layer of the object using an ultraviolet laser. The process begins with the laser tracing a cross-section of the desired pattern on the surface of the resin, causing it to cure and join with the layer beneath. As this methodical progression continues, we witness how this once-liquid substance transforms into a solid charm before our eyes. The resulting pendant emerges gracefully from its bath of liquid resin, embodying both complexity and elegance. This photograph provides us with an intimate still life depiction that highlights every detail and cutout of this technological marvel. It serves as a testament to advancements in materials science and chemistry while showcasing how modern manufacturing techniques can produce stunning works of art. PASCAL GOETGHELUCK's expertly captured image allows us to appreciate not only the beauty but also comprehend the intricacies involved in creating such masterpieces through 3D printing technologies like stereolithography.
