The construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney, Australia. The bridge was designed and built by Dorman Long and Co Ltd, Middlesbrough Teesside and Cleveland Bridge, Darlington, County Durham and opened in 1932. Until 1967 it was the citys tallest structure. Construction of the arch of the bridge began in 1929, with two separate teams building the arch on each side using creeper cranes
