EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the facade of the Prince Ernest pub, a beloved watering hole once located in the vibrant and eclectic neighborhood of Shoreditch, London. The image presents a clear view of the pub's exterior, with its distinctive signage and ornate brickwork. The Prince Ernest, a public house that went by the moniker "L.A." at the time of its closure in the early 21st century, was a cherished establishment in the community. Sadly, the pub met its end around 2001, and was subsequently demolished. The back of the print reveals the pub's address, E8 4HA, and its former name, L.A., as well as the unfortunate news of its demise. The Wenlock and Bessemer Brewery Company Limited, a well-known brewery, had previously owned and operated the pub. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the Prince Ernest's rich history and the memories it holds for those who once frequented it.
