The year is 1755, and Marie Antoinette, dressed in an elegant robe and wearing a diamond-encrusted headdress, receives her three children: the Dauphin (future King Louis XVI), Madame Royale (Marie-Josèphe), and the Duc de Normandie (Louis-Joseph) in the Palace of Versailles. The children, dressed in their finest clothing, gaze up at their mother with adoration and curiosity. Marie Antoinette's reign as Queen of France began in 1774 when she married the future King Louis XVI. Over the next two decades, she became known for her extravagant lifestyle, which included elaborate parties, expensive jewelry, and a passion for fashion. However, beneath this image of luxury and opulence, Marie Antoinette was a devoted mother to her children. She spent much of her time with them, teaching them to read, write, and ride horses.
