Born on January 27, 1859, Wilhelm ascended to the throne in 1888 following the death of his father, Emperor Frederick III. Augusta Viktoria, a Danish princess, was his wife since 1881, and together they had seven children: Wilhelm, Crown Prince of Germany (1882-1951), Charlotte, Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1894-1944), Prince Heinrich (1894-1916), Prince Adolf (1898-1948), Prince Philipp (1895-1975), Princess Margarete (1896-1925), and Princess Katherine (1891-1946). The photograph showcases the family's unity and love, as well as their impressive lineage.
