A group of opulently dressed townspeople have gathered inside a humble farmhouse, indulging themselves in the food and drink of the hardworking farmers. To the left of the frame, our attention is drawn to a farmer who has brought a basket overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables. However, instead of being treated with gratitude or respect, he is forcibly forced onto his knees by an unseen force. The anguish on his face reflects the power dynamics at play during this era.
