EDITORS COMMENTS
Great image capturing the moment when Granit Xhaka of Arsenal Football Club received a red card during the Premier League match against Burnley at Emirates Stadium on December 13, 2020. The Swiss international midfielder was given his marching orders by referee Graham Scott after a heated confrontation with Burnley's Chris Wood following a foul on the New Zealand striker. The incident occurred in the 62nd minute of the game, leaving Arsenal to play with ten men for the remaining 28 minutes. The red card came as a blow to Mikel Arteta's side, who were already struggling to keep up with their opponents. Burnley went on to score the winning goal in the 72nd minute, securing a valuable three points and leaving Arsenal to ponder what could have been. Xhaka's dismissal was a frustrating moment for Arsenal fans, who had seen their team put in a strong performance for much of the game. The midfielder had been a key figure in Arsenal's midfield, providing stability and control in the engine room. His absence left a gaping hole in the team's midfield, making it difficult for them to maintain their tempo and create scoring opportunities. Despite the setback, Arsenal continued to fight until the final whistle, but ultimately came up short. The red card was a turning point in the game, and one that proved costly for the Gunners. As they look to bounce back from this disappointing result, they will need to regroup and focus on the next fixture, knowing that they cannot afford to lose key players through unnecessary disciplinary actions.
