Smoking at an early age for 2 year old Hugh Condron
Would you let your two-year-old son smoke and drink? Chubby Hugh Condron of Muirmadkin Road Bellshill North Lanarkshire, Scotland who was two in September 1962 does both. Hughs drinking career started at the Glasgow Fair holiday, when his Uncle Mr Tom Miller gave him a little taste of beer. He gulped it down - and held out his glass for more. It was also through his uncle that Hugh acquired his taste for the pipe. Mr Miller laid down his lit pipe for a moment, and before he could pick it up again young Hugh had it in his mouth taking his first puff

Smoking at an early age for 2-year-old Hugh Condron - A Curious Tale of a Boy's Unconventional Habits
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this intriguing photo print, we catch a glimpse into the extraordinary life of young Hugh Condron from Muirmadkin Road, Bellshill, Scotland. At just two years old, little Hugh defies societal norms by indulging in both smoking and drinking. Hugh's journey into these unusual habits began during the Glasgow Fair holiday in September 1962 when his mischievous Uncle Tom Miller introduced him to the world of adult pleasures. Offering him a sip of beer as a playful experiment, they were astonished when he eagerly gulped it down and demanded more. But it was through another unexpected encounter with his uncle that Hugh developed an even more peculiar taste – that for the pipe. As Mr. Miller momentarily set aside his lit pipe, young Hugh seized the opportunity to take his first puff before anyone could intervene. This image captures not only the innocence but also the humor behind childhood curiosity and unconventional behavior. It serves as a reminder that children can surprise us with their innate ability to explore beyond boundaries and challenge societal expectations. As we reflect upon this photograph from Memory Lane Prints, one cannot help but wonder about parental influence and responsibility. Would you allow your own two-year-old son to partake in such activities? Join us on this nostalgic journey back to 1960s Scotland where chubby-cheeked Hugh Condron challenges our perceptions of childhood innocence
