The year is 1170, and Becket, wearing the traditional robes of his office, kneels humbly before an altar, his hands clasped in supplication. The somber setting, with its dimly lit, Gothic architecture and ornate, stained-glass windows, adds to the solemnity of the scene. Thomas Becket, a man of great intelligence and charisma, had once been a trusted advisor and friend to King Henry II.
