Callaghan was a versatile player who could play both as a forward and a half-back. He quickly established himself as a valuable member of the team, contributing to their impressive performances on the pitch. In the 1925-1926 season, Callaghan helped Tottenham reach the FA Cup Final, where they lost to Cardiff City.
