This evocative photograph captures the beloved Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) in a rare moment of respite amidst the chaos of childhood. The image, titled "R.L. Stevenson with his Nephews and Niece," was taken in 1885, the year that Stevenson published his much-loved collection of poems, "A Child's Garden of Verses."
