EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the SECAN SUC-10 Courlis F-BEVZ on display at the 1961 Paris Air Show held at Le Bourget. The Courlis was the brainchild of SECAN, a branch of the automobile company Societe des Usines Chaussons, which aimed to expand into the aeronautical industry. The sleek and innovative design of the SECAN SUC-10 Courlis F-BEVZ was a sight to behold, drawing in crowds of aviation enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. However, the production of this aircraft was fraught with challenges, particularly with the installation of its engines. Despite these setbacks, SECAN managed to build 144 units of the Courlis, making it a significant achievement for the fledgling aeronautical company. Sadly, not all of these aircraft were completed with engines, and some were ultimately scrapped. The SECAN SUC-10 Courlis F-BEVZ remains an intriguing piece of aviation history, a testament to the ambition and determination of its creators. This photograph, taken during the 1961 Paris Air Show, offers a glimpse into a bygone era of aviation innovation and the dreams of a company that dared to reach for the skies.
