This striking photograph captures a moment in the historic presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973). Born in Stonewall, Texas, Johnson served as the 36th President of the United States from 1963 to 1968, following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Prior to his presidency, Johnson served as a congressman, senator, and Vice President. In this image, Johnson is shown sitting at his desk in the Oval Office, deep in thought. The President is dressed in a crisp suit and tie, his hands steepled in front of him, as he contemplates the weighty issues of the day.
