This photograph captures Lucille Grahn (1855-1927) in the role of Eoline, or La Dryade, during a performance of the 19th century ballet production at the Théâtre National de l'Opéra in Paris. Grahn, a Swedish ballerina of exceptional grace and beauty, joined the Opéra Ballet in 1876 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a principal dancer in 1881. She is best known for her interpretation of the mythological dryad, Eoline, in this iconic production. The image showcases Grahn's remarkable agility and poise as she gracefully leaps through the air, her flowing costume and expressive facial features adding to the ethereal allure of the character.
