The image captures the moment of triumph as Bleriot sits amongst an esteemed group, including Lord Northcliffe (second from left), who had sponsored the daring challenge. His monoplane, the Blériot XI, covered the 22-mile distance from Calais to Dover in just 37 minutes. This remarkable achievement marked a turning point in aviation history and solidified Bleriot's place as a pioneer in the field. The Savoy Hotel, a renowned luxury establishment, provided the perfect setting for this celebratory luncheon. The gathering of these influential figures not only marked the end of an extraordinary achievement but also signified the beginning of a new era in aviation. This photograph is a testament to the spirit of innovation and the determination of those who dared to push the boundaries of what was thought possible.
