Guests at a party thrown by short-lived by hip and happening magazine, London Life at the top of the newly-built GPO (Post Office) Tower in May 1966. The party was populated by around 150 personalities from the worlds of art, finance, publishing, advertising and show business, who were able to have their first view of London from the top of the tower. Pictured are photographer David Bailey, Chrissie Shrimpton (sister of model Jean Shrimpton), and Mick Jagger. Date: 1966

In this photograph from the annals of Swinging Sixties London, we find ourselves transported to the GPO Tower in May 1966, where a party thrown by the hip and happening magazine, London Life, was in full swing. The newly-built GPO Tower, which would later become known as the BT Tower, offered a unique and breathtaking view of the city, and around 150 personalities from the worlds of art, finance, publishing, advertising, and show business were invited to be among the first to witness this stunning panorama.
