Newman's conversion was a pivotal moment in his life and in the history of the Catholic Church in England. Newman was born on February 21, 1801, in London, England. He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford, and ordained an Anglican priest in 1825. Throughout his Anglican career, he was known for his scholarly pursuits and his commitment to religious and social reform.
