The young peasant girl, who would go on to become a military and spiritual icon, had been summoned to the castle by the Dauphin, Charles VII, who sought her help in restoring the French monarchy during the Hundred Years' War. Joan of Arc, dressed in her iconic armor, stands confidently atop her horse, her gaze fixed on the imposing fortress ahead. Her determined expression and regal bearing belie her humble origins, as she prepares to meet with the Dauphin and secure her place in French history.
