The Chateau was once the residence of Sir Henry Bulwer, 1st Baron Dalling and Bulwer (1801-1872), who served as the British Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire from 1858 to 1868, succeeding Lord Stratford de Redcliffe. The grand edifice, with its towering structures and intricate details, once stood as a symbol of British influence and power during the Ottoman Empire.
