St Clotilda, 1886. The Burgundian princess Clotilda (later canonized as St Clotilda), was the wife of the Frankish king, Clovis I. Clotilda was almost certainly behind Cloviss conversion to Christianity, and he was baptised in 496 AD. Published in Butlers Lives of the Saints, DIV 7, by the Rev Alban Butler, London & Dublin, 1886
