The image is part of the renowned book "Peoples of the World in Pictures" edited by Harold Wheeler and published by Odhams Press Ltd in London. In this snapshot frozen in time, two male peasants donning traditional Serbian costumes engage in conversation. Their weathered faces tell tales of hard work and resilience amidst poverty. Dressed in their national attire, complete with hats and intricate clothing details, they embody the essence of their country's rich cultural heritage. The photograph captures not only their occupation as farmers but also reflects on broader themes such as tradition, local arts, and indigenous customs.
