Joseph Durham, sculptor, 1878. Durham was first noticed when his bust of Jenny Lind was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1848. He also made a bust of Queen Victoria, and was chosen to design a work to commemorate the Great Exhibition of 1851. From Men of Mark: a gallery of contemporary portraits of men distinguished in the Senate, the Church, in science, literature and art, the army, navy, law, medicine, etc. Photographed from life by Lock and Whitfield, with brief biographical notices by Thompson Cooper. We recommend using a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe off the print. The ultra-hard surface is scratch-resistant, waterproof and weatherproof. Avoid direct sunlight exposure.
