The screen, adorned with vibrant polychrome colors and intricate gilding, showcases a mesmerizing scene that transports viewers to the picturesque countryside of ancient China. The folding screen depicts a harmonious blend of nature and culture, featuring majestic horses galloping through lush landscapes. The skillful depiction captures the essence of horse riding as an integral part of Chinese heritage art. The multicolored paper panels create a sense of depth and movement, immersing onlookers in this enchanting world. With its origins rooted in Macao or Macau, this biombo reflects the historical connection between Portugal and China during the exploration era.
