VISUAL DESCRIPTION
An elegant and stately late 19th-century historical dress displayed on a mannequin. The gown features a striking combination of rich green velvet and lustrous golden-brown silk taffeta. It is designed with leg-of-mutton sleeves, characteristic of the period's fashion, which are puffed at the shoulders and taper to fitted cuffs adorned with intricate gold embroidery matching the collar and waistband. The bodice is tailored to accentuate the waist, leading down to a full skirt that gracefully drapes over an implied bustle structure, typical for that era's silhouette. This ensemble likely represents upper-class women's formal wear from the Victorian or Edwardian epoch, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail in its construction and ornamentation.
