Conducted in the garden of the Muette Chateau. Under the direction of Mr Montgolfier. By the Marquis d Arlandes and Pilatre de Rozier. On this flight Jean-Francois Pilatre de Rozier (1754-85) and the Francois Laurent le Vieux d Arlandes (1742-1809) flew about 3, 000 feet (910 m) above Paris for a distance of nine kilometers.
