They are seen departing from the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles after signing the peace treaty that marked the end of World War I. The negotiations leading up to this momentous event were fraught with tension as each nation sought to secure its own interests while ensuring lasting peace in Europe. Dominated by these three powerful nations, allied discussions began in Paris in January 1919 but it wasn't until April that Germany was reluctantly invited to participate.
