Starting from left to right, we are presented with an early Iron Age bronze axe featuring distinct bent-over wings, symbolizing the craftsmanship of that time. Next to it stands a later iron axe, representing the evolution and advancement in tool-making techniques. Moving along this historical journey, our attention is drawn towards a knife adorned with a bone handle, exuding both practicality and artistry. Adjacent to it lies a delicate bone needle and an awl made from the same material - testaments to human ingenuity in creating functional objects using available resources. Lastly, we encounter iron shears by Iron Age; their sturdy construction hints at their durability and usefulness for various tasks during that period. This remarkable collection was carefully curated by the Ashmolean Museum at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Each artifact holds its own story as they were discovered across different locations such as Tyrol (Italy), Pfaffenburg (Germany), Standlake and Elsfield (Oxon), and Sopron (Hungary).
