EDITORS COMMENTS
Great photo capturing the excitement and controversy of Everton's double trouble goals against Blackburn Rovers on January 21, 2012, during the Barclays Premier League season 2011-12. In the heart of the action, Everton's Marouane Fellaini (center) and Tim Cahill (right) celebrate Cahill's goal, with Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson (not visible) protesting for a handball. The first goal, scored by Fellaini, was initially disallowed due to a handball allegation against the Belgian midfielder. However, after a lengthy discussion between the referee and his assistant, the goal was eventually given, much to the relief and delight of the Everton players and fans. Just minutes later, Cahill netted the second goal, which was also subject to controversy. This time, it was a header from a Fellaini corner, with Blackburn's defenders claiming that Cahill had pushed one of them in the back before scoring. Again, the goal was initially disallowed, but after consultation with the assistant referee, it was given, much to the frustration of the Blackburn players and fans. Despite the controversies, Everton went on to win the game 3-2, with Cahill's goal proving to be the decisive one. This photo perfectly encapsulates the drama and intensity of the moment, with Fellaini and Cahill reveling in their team's hard-fought victory. This photo is a reminder of the passion and competitiveness of football, as well as the importance of clear and fair decision-making by officials. It's a moment that Everton fans will never forget, and a testament to the determination and skill of their team.
