EDITORS COMMENTS
"In the heat of the summer of 2016, Brighton and Hove Albion FC made their way to Stevenage for a pre-season friendly, as part of their preparations for the upcoming EFL Sky Bet Championship season. The Seagulls, fresh off their promotion to the second tier of English football, faced a determined Stevenage side at The Lamex Stadium. The atmosphere was electric as both teams took to the pitch, with Brighton's young squad eager to make an impression. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, a promising talent, was in fine form, making several crucial saves to keep the scoreline in check. The Seagulls' attacking prowess was on full display, with Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed leading the line, creating numerous chances for their teammates. The first half ended goalless, but the intensity didn't let up in the second. Brighton eventually broke through, with Murray scoring the opening goal in the 65th minute. Stevenage pressed hard for an equalizer, but the Seagulls' defense held firm, with Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk leading the way. The final whistle blew, with Brighton emerging victorious. The win was a valuable confidence booster for Chris Hughton's side, as they continued their preparations for the Championship battle ahead. The season was long and arduous, but this pre-season friendly against Stevenage served as a reminder of the team's potential and the excitement that lay ahead in the 2016-17 campaign."
