The previous season had seen both teams locked in fierce battles, with Arsenal narrowly edging past Portsmouth in their league encounters. Merida, a Spanish midfielder, wears the iconic red and white Arsenal jersey, his determined expression reflecting the unyielding spirit of the Gunners.
