EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph, the focus is on two prominent football figures of the 2007-2008 Barclays Premier League season: Alex Hleb of Arsenal and El-Hadji Diouf of Bolton Wanderers. The image was captured during Arsenal's home victory against Bolton on the 20th of October, 2007. Alex Hleb, a Belarusian international, joined Arsenal in the summer of 2005 and quickly became a fan favorite with his creative midfield play and goalscoring abilities. In this match, Hleb's skill and vision were on full display as he orchestrated Arsenal's attacks, leading to their 2:0 victory. Across the pitch, El-Hadji Diouf, a Senegalese international, was a tenacious and determined forward for Bolton Wanderers. Known for his physicality and ability to score important goals, Diouf presented a formidable challenge for Arsenal's defense. However, on this day, Arsenal's defensive unit, led by William Gallas and Kolo Toure, managed to keep the Bolton striker at bay. The photograph encapsulates the intensity and excitement of a Premier League match, with both players locked in a moment of competition and focus. The Arsenal crowd can be seen in the background, cheering on their team as they take a commanding lead over their opponents. This image is a testament to the passion and skill that define the beautiful game of football.
