1. Title: GAF Nomad 22B VH-CRI: A Veteran Aeronautical Transport from Australia to the Philippines and Back 2.. This evocative black-and-white photograph captures the GAF Nomad 22B, registration VH-CRI (msn 53), in its prime during its tenure with the National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) in 1977. First taking to the skies on June 6, 1977, this Australian-built aircraft, produced by Government Aircraft Factories (GAF), was a vital component of the NSCA's fleet. Numbered 53, VH-CRI served Australia with distinction, showcasing its versatility and reliability in various aeronautical transport applications. However, its story did not end in the land down under. In November 1990, the Nomad 22B was bought by the Philippine Air Force, expanding their fleet and continuing its service in a new country. Unfortunately, on December 17, 2002, VH-CRI's journey came to an abrupt end when it ditched in the sea. Despite the unfortunate incident, this photograph stands as a testament to the Nomad 22B's rich history and its role in both Australian and Philippine aviation.
