This striking photograph captures the imposing figure of Captain Georgius Oursas, also known as Captain Arkoudas, a Macedonian revolutionary and fighter for Greek independence. Hailing from the village of Grevana in Samarina, Macedonia, Arkoudas stood tall among his fellow officers in their military uniforms, determined to secure a free and united Greece.
