The jackfruit is a large tree belonging to the Moraceae family, which is native to South and Southeast Asia. This illustration, drawn in the nineteenth century, showcases the intricate details of the jackfruit tree, from its distinctive cross-shaped veins to the unusual arrangement of its leaves, which are heterophyllous, meaning they come in two distinct shapes.
