Amidst the pomp and pageantry of August 7, 1879, the Limfjorden Bridge in Denmark was officially inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in Danish engineering and transportation history. The Limfjorden Bridge, also known as the Limfjordsbroen or the New Limfjord Bridge, was a suspension bridge designed by the renowned Danish engineer, Hans Christian Reichswald, and built to replace the earlier ferry service across the Limfjord, a narrow and treacherous waterway.
