Davids over-protective mother Peggy (Mary Peach) is afraid of the risks connected with restoring his sight. Ray tries to help the whole family, offering the heavy-drinking Peggys heavy-drinking partner Steve (Tom Bell) an opportunity to work with his band.
Ray Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930 June 10, 2004) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and composer. Among friends and fellow musicians he preferred being called " Brother Ray". He was often referred to as " The Genius." Charles started losing his vision at the age of 6 due to glaucoma. Some of his famous songs are Hit The Road Jack, Georgia On My Mind and I Got A Woman.
